Power Minister lays foundation stone of roads, distributes land pattas

DHUBRI, July 2: State Power Minister Tapan Kumar Gogoi laid the foundation stone of road, inaugurated water scheme and distributed land pattas among the landless people recently in Bilasipara subdivision of Dhubri district. Gogoi’s day-long programme began with the laying of foundation of nearly 1.6 km PWD link road with NH-31 from Paulpara to Satyapur via Bhatipara to be constructed at cost of Rs. 1.75 crore in Bilasipara (East) constituency at Satyapur.

Soon after it, Gogoi inaugurated a drinking water project implemented by Public Health Engineering (PHE) at Krishnakali Tea Estate under the same constituency followed by formal distribution of land patta among the landless people living in the area. As many as 136 land pattas were distributed among the landless people at Chapor Tea Garden playground by Gogoi. Speaking in the meetings held at Satyapur Durga Mandir Ground and Chapor Tea garden playground, Gogoi said that there would be no dearth of fund for any development works in the constituency (Bilasipara East) which bore the memories and testimony of former Chief Minister and Jananeta Sarat Chandra Singha. Gogoi also informed that the State government had also sanctioned Rs. 1 crore for construction of all roads in tea garden areas in Assam.

“Our present MLA, Ashok Kumar Singhi is every active and hard-working and has calibre. He also knows how to get the schemes sanctioned for his constituency and see its proper implementation right from lying of foundation stone to completion of works,” Gogoi said while praising Singhi. Gogoi, besides speaking at a length on the various works Singhi had undertaken for all-round development of his constituency in just two years as MLA, also highlighted development works being implemented across the State under Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

In the meeting , Golokganj BJP legislator Ashwani Roy Sarkar, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani, Superintendent of Police Longneet Terang and PWD Superintendent Engineer Nip Kumar Sarma also spoke in the meetings and highlighted various works benefiting the people which are either on progress or have already been completed in the meantime. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pallab Mazumdar and Bilasipara subdivisional Officer (Civil), Rohan Kumar Jha.
