Power tillers distributed to beneficiaries

KOKRAJHAR, February 17: The Department of Agriculture, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) on Tuesday distributed 10 power tillers to beneficiaries under the Mechanical Cultivation Scheme, 2014-15. The ceremonial distribution function held at the premises of the Agriculture Directorate office was chaired by Jagatbandhu Brahma, Council Head of the Department (CHD), Agriculture, BTC.  Power tillers to 10 beneficiaries of four districts of BTC were distributed by Doneswar Goyary, MCLA of BTC.  Jagatbandhu Brahma told media persons that the department had distributed the power tillers for the benefit of the farmers of BTC region. He said the agriculture department of the council had been trying to provide modern agricultural equipment to increase the agricultural produce. He also said that the department had so far distributed 63 power tillers to poor farmers under the Mechanical Cultivation Scheme during the fincial year 2014-15. Brahma also said that more power tillers would be distributed to farmers.
