Power workers’ body stages protest

JORHAT, Jan 6: Assam Power Workers’ Union Jorhat unit staged a protest today in front of the Upper Assam Power Distribution Limited (APDCL) in support of their various demands. Power Workers Union Jorhat unit has demanded release of their DA which has been pending since 2010, implement of Supreme Court order regarding workers wages and regularization of jobs of the temporary workers. About hundreds of workers shouted slogan against state power minister Pallab Lochan Das. On the other hand Assam power workers union, Mariani unit also staged a protest in front of the Assistant General Mager office of Mariani Power Distribution company office.  Later Mariani unit president and secretary sent a memorandum to Chief Minister through Jorhat DC.
