Powerful bomb recovered in Byrnihat

SHILLONG-DIMORIA, Nov 13: The recovery of a powerful bomb in 15 Mile area of Byrnihat created sensation on Friday. The bomb was fitted to the car of one Gilberson Sangma, a contractor. According to police, today morning the Byrnihat police outpost received information that Gilbertson Sangma was served a Rs six lakh demand note in the me of the GNLA. “They also planted a bomb like devise in his vehicle,” police said. Police also said that they have received the telephone number of the suspect and they are on the job to track the culprits. It has been learnt that, on Friday morning Sangma witnessed a bag a top his vehicle. When he enquired about the owner of the unidentified bag, he got no response from the people nearby. Following this, Sangma opened the bag and found a letter from proscribed GNLA demanding Rs 6 lakhs from him. In the letter, the outfit also threatened the contractor that if he doesn’t adhere to their demand, they have planted bombs at his residence and will make them explode.
