PPA brands Khandu, So as ‘betrayers’

Itagar, Jan 25: Terming chief minister Pema Khandu and Mechuka MLA Pasang Dorjee So as “betrayers,” the Peoples Party of Aruchal (PPA) has demanded that the CBI should probe them before they further loot and plunder the state. A statement issued by party president Kahfa Bengia said while the New Year dawned with a bang in the rest of the country, a “motley crowd of Betrayers took over the state of Aruchal” and described the event as “most unfortute.” “It is not a Bharatiya Jata Party government that came into the saddle, but a Betrayers Jata Party that took over,” the statement said and picked out Khandu and So as the “chief betrayers.”

Going back in time to trace Khandu and So’s progress and justify the label of “betrayers,” Bengia said So won as a PPA MLA from Mechuka and became the first “turncoat” to defect to the Congress. Then he ditched the Congress, returned to the PPA to leave it again and went over to the BJP. He has now joined hands with the “young and inexperienced chief minister to betray the people of Aruchal Pradesh,” he said. Khandu, he said, is adept at the “game of betrayal.”

He (Khandu) won as Congress MLA, deserted the party and joined the PPA, ditched the “people’s chief minister Kalikho Pul, drove him to suicide, came back to Congress on the pretext of the judgment of the Constitution Bench (of the Supreme Court), ditched the Congress, defected to PPA, deserted PPA and now in BJP. “Poor in vision and administrative acumen, his only job is to swindle the State and satisfy the bosses in Delhi” in order to stay in power,” Bengia said. He said that Khandu indulged in all these political gimmicks in less than a year.

“The day the people of Aruchal Pradesh through their representatives in the Assembly will give a be?tting verdict on Pema Khandu over Kalikho Pul’s suicide note, is not very far,” the PPA president warned. Bengia alleged that in the latest twist to the issue of merger of PPA with the BJP, the Speaker’s office had lost the files on the merger.

“Reports say the chief minister has stched all these files from the Speaker for constructing and reconstructing the papers so that they may pass the test before the Speaker and the Courts,” he said adding the “duo first betrayed the Speaker by not accommodating him in the Ministry, now by stching the files from him they have divested him of the dignity of office. PPA demands that CBI should cause an inquiry and frame this duo before they loot and plunder the state any further, Bengia added.
