PPA concerned over fiscal position

Our Correspondent

Itagar, February 24: The People’s Party of Aruchal (PPA) has expressed serious concern over the fincial health of the state. “The centre has already warned the state government to maintain strict fincial discipline and to ensure utilization of central funds on time,” claimed chairman, CWC, PPA, Kamen Ringu while presiding over a party meeting to discuss the fiscal mess in the state. “The governor should intervene and initiate systematic enquiries as to why the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes like PMGSY have been halted because of non-payment of contractors for the last 6-7 months,” Ringu said. He said the reason for the fiscal indiscipline in the state was because there was no system of ‘checks and balances’.

Strict action should be initiated against any defaulting officers responsible for non-submission of utilization certificates because of which the state is entangled in a fiscal trap, he added, a party release said here today.
