PPA demands Governor to advance assembly session

From our correspondent

Itagar, Nov 24: The People’s Party of Aruchal (PPA) has demanded the Governor for advancing the session of the Legislative Assembly being scheduled on January 14, 2016 considering the present political scerio. Alleging that the governor has fixed the time of the Assembly following suggestion of the state government, PPA President Kahfa Bengia opined that the constitutiol head of the state should not go by suggestions given by the government which has completely lost the confidence of the people. “It has been time and again brought to the knowledge of the governor that the present government has been reduced to a minority government and, hence, it needs to prove itself in the floor of the assembly,” the party president said.

Saying that the Governor is empowered to convene the Assembly from as early as 24 hours to a period of 10 days, Bengia urged the governor to rescind his earlier decision and pre-pone the assembly.  “Since the Leader of the Opposition has submitted petitions of No Confidence Motion against the leadership of bam Tuki, the governor must take the appropriate step required to bring back normalcy in the state immediately. Further delay in convening such an urgent assembly of the legislators of the House can prove a political disaster,” he added.
