PPA lauds Governor for pragmatic reforms

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

ITAGAR, Feb 5: The People’s Party of Aruchal (PPA) has extended its gratefulness to Governor J P Rajkhowa for his sweeping and pragmatic reforms bringing a fresh lease of life to the people of the State after the imposition of President’s Rule.

“Reformatory steps like quick dismissal of underperforming State’s Advocate General and Additiol Advocate General, the memorable blessings bestowed on the meritorious civil services aspirants with the timely announcement of the long pending APPSCE written exams results, were some of the remarkable achievements of the governor,” PPA President Kahfa Bengia observed during a party’s meeting here.

He said, the jubilant moods of the public following law and order completely under control, swift crackdown on further misuse of public money by the outgoing government like promoting equitable distribution of funds from the Thirteenth Fince Commission among all the districts, equal distribution of fund from SIDF (State Infrastructural Development Fund) among all the 60-member Assembly Constituencies which otherwise were earmarked for selected areas and regions were laudable initiatives.

Considering the continued law and order problem, the State should immediately be endowed with the service of a Director of Prosecution to deal with the crimil cases and for speedy delivery of justice”, added Bengia.

Party’s general secretary Kaling Jerang while speaking on the occasion said “The PPA while reiterating its full support to the current imposition of President’s Rule in the State request the governor to initiate for introduction of a separate and independent State IAS cadre which is the long felt need of the people of the State”.

“Many of the officers sent to the State under AGMUT cadres have been found treating Aruchal only as a holiday destitions with no genuine commitment towards the improvement of the State. Because of their frequent trips to Delhi on flimsy reasons, the State’s interests have severely suffered in all these decades. Its time enough that Aruchal has its own IAS cadres,” he added.
