Itagar, Aug 22: It’s a major blow to People’s Party of Aruchal, the lone regiol party of the State, as a large chunk of public leaders, youth, as well as the party workers from Angkaling village led by ex-gram chairperson Ngaji Norbu on Sunday joined the BJP.

The new BJP members expressed their faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and local legislator cum Legislative Assembly Speaker Tenzing Norbu Thongdok.

Thongdok, while welcoming them into the party fold said, “We have to be united and work in tandem for the welfare of the area and most importantly, for the poor and downtrodden.”

The MLA further spoke on the motto and idea of “Sarvodaya” and “Antodaya”- welfare of the masses and the weaker section in particular, which is also the tagline of the BJP.
