PPM rues poor condition of primary health center

SHILLONG, Oct 14: The Poor Peoples Movement (PPM), Mawhati Circle has expressed serious concern over the orphaned status of the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Mawhati which has left the residents of the region in an enormous dilemma.

In a joint statement issued by the Movement’s president K Nongpoh, DS Nongspung general secretary and LS Shadap publicity secretary have asserted that the health department through the MUA II government led by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma should take up the matter seriously in providing necessary facilities to the health centre instead of making only assurances. The PPM leaders has threatened to organise a public meeting to discuss and take a resolution on the subject matter, if the state government or the local MLA fails to address the issue soon.
