Prabanda Holy Child School to celebrate Silver Jubilee

SILCHAR, Nov 25: Prabanda Holy Child School situated at Hospital road, Silchar, has taken up various events on their hands to celebrate the silver jubilee of the School. On November 27 morning, a rally  dubbed as ‘Prabhat Pheri’ will kick start the celebration. This will be followed by a small function which will start from 8 am at Lakshmi rayan Hall. The rally will start marching from District Sports Association Ground and converge at Rangirkhari Point. The main cultural programme has been scheduled for November 29 which will be held at Rajiv Bhawan, Silchar, from 4pm onwards.
 “Educationist Dr Sankar Bhattacharjee who was also the former principal of Women’s College, Silchar, will be the chief guest of the occasion. Former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Dr S Lakshman, IAS, Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Rakesh Roushan, IPS, ADC B C th and Dr Bibash Deb are expected to grace the occasion. Students, former students and guardians will also participate in it,” said Debashish Mukherjee, director of the School, at a press-meet held in the meeting hall of the School on Friday. Debashish Mukherjee further said that a yearlong programme has been planned for celebration of silver jubilee. It includes science and art exhibition, Swaach Bharat Abhiyan, quiz and debate competitions. Among others present at the press-meet included Pamela Sen, principal, Ashoka Mukherjee, president, Elizabeth Chalmars, vice principal, of the School.
