Prabandha Baibhav released in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: A compilation of 23 columns named Prabandha Baibhav of noted teacher, social worker and State award winner, Cheban Prasad Sharma was released on Sunday under the aegis of Mancharupa, a mass cultural and social platform.

The book was launched by former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr Nagen Saikia who graced the event as its chief guest. In his speech, Saikia praised Sharma as a teacher, and also said his columns reflected his empathy for social work.

Distinguished guest for the event was former president (in-charge) of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Prahlad Chandra Tasa. A host of dignitaries including national award winner noted teacher, Gandeshwar Saikia, retired education officer and writer, Durlav Chetia and retired Justice Bishnulal Sharma graced the occasion and spoke to the gathering.

A one-minute silence was also observed at the beginning of the event to mourn the martyrdom of the CRPF personnel in the recent dastardly attack at Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, the event started with lighting of the lamp by noted artist, Hasan Sharif Ahmed.
