Kokrajhar: As part of the simultaneous nationwide launch of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan), the BTC authority, district administration and Agriculture department also jointly inaugurated it at the district-level at a programme held at the Basic Training Centre on Sunday.

On the occasion, State Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma, and Doneswar Goyary, Executive Member, Bodoland Territorial Council, attended as special guest and inaugurator respectively.

In her speech, explaining the detailed of the scheme, minister Pramila Rani Brahma said that Rs. 6000 would be given to small and marginal farmer families having combined landholdings and ownership of up to two hectares under this scheme with hundred per cent funding from the Central Government. “The amount will be given to them in three instalments of Rs 2000 each and it will be transferred electronically directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries,” she added.

She further urged the farmers to give importance to multiple cropping at regular intervals so as to enhance the economy of the country. Inaugurating the function, Bodoland Territorial Council Executive Member Doneswar Goyary sought the cooperation from farmers for the growth of the area and stressed the need to develop the area in whatever possible way. He also gave assurance of extending whatever possible help from the BTC administration towards the development of the agricultural sector in the country.

Under PM- Kisan Sanman Nidhi Yojana, about 30,000 farmers in the first phase, out of about 80,000 farmers, will be benefited in Kokrajhar district. On the occasion, the 53rd edition of Mann Ki Baat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also directly aired for the public.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prafulla Chandra Barman, BTC Joint Secretary Majendra Basumatary, Director, Agriculture, BTC, MM Swargiari were also present in the programme.

LAKHIMPUR: Along with other parts of the nation, Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi, an aspiring scheme of the Union Government framed for the well-being of the farmer fraternity, was launched in Lakhimpur on Sunday.

On this occasion, a ceremonial programme was held at Lakhimpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) premises wherein the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech regarding the launch of the scheme was arranged as per the direction of the competent authority in the presence of as many as 300 farmers of the district.

Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah lit the ceremonial lamp of the programme taking part as chief guest. In his lecture, the MP elaborated how the newly launched scheme would benefit the farmers across the nation. Speaking on the occasion, Lakhimpur ADC Bipul Das, Zila Parishad chairperson Manju Borgohain, and RARS in-charge chief scientist Tarun Chandra Mahanta stated that the scheme would increase the prestige of the farmers. Senior scientist and head of the KVK, Bhabesh Chandra Deka delivered the welcome speech in the programme in which the KVK distributed among the farmers a bulletin covering all information about the scheme, published in Assamese.

GAURISAGAR: Keeping in tune with launch of the ambitious ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur on Sunday, along with the rest of the State, the scheme was simultaneously launched in Sivasagar district. The district-level launch programme of the scheme was held in the Yuva Dol auditorium. During the programme, live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address in Mann Ki Baat and subsequently his address in the launch of the scheme was arranged in the venue.

Attending the programme, Kushal Duwari, MLA of Thowra, stated that the scheme would greatly benefit the farmers of the district. He called upon the District Agriculture Department to carry out extensive awareness programmes on the government schemes intended for the welfare of the farmers. “The successful implementation of the welfare schemes will definitely result in overall growth and development of the State,” the MLA said. So far, 20, 887 beneficiaries have been registered under the PM-KISAN scheme.

MORIGAON: Union Minister for State for Railways Rajen Gohain formally launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan) at a programme held at Morigaon Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Rajen Gohain said that the scheme had been launched for the benefit of farmers. Farmers would get direct transfer benefit through their bank accounts.

He was accompanied by TAC CEM Paban Manta, FDB chairman Ramakanta Deuri, DC Rituraj Bora and ADC Lakhinandan Soharia. Around 500 farmers attended the programme. The scheme was also simultaneously launched in five blocks -Mayong, Laharighat, Kapili, Bhurbandha and Moirabari in the district.
