Pragatishil Lekhak Kalakar Sangha’s meeting held

UDALGURI, Feb 5: The executive meeting of Pragatishil Lekhak Kalakar Sangha, Bharat was held at Borsola and a Northeast region committee was formed with Dr. Bhakta Gautam as president, Hemlal Kashyap as vice-president, Abhikeshar Sarma as general secretary and Gayatri Bhattarai as assistant secretary.

The meeting was chaired by Baidyath Upadhyaya, the tiol advisory council member of the organization and conducted by regiol coorditor Abhikeshar Sarma. The meeting decided to bring out a book in Assamese on the famous Nepali writer Parijat and to release this book at a function to be held at Bishwath Chariali on April 17. Several distinguished writers were assigned to this work.

The regiol committee will extend its activities forming Hojai, Bishwath, Sonitpur, Udalguri and Baksa district committees. The meeting was attended by Rudra Baral, the general secretary of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha, Dr. Bhakta Gautam, Dr. Sanjib Upadhyaya and Gopal Chandra Sarma, among other dignitaries.
