Pranab made a big mistake: Tarun Gogoi

A Correspondent

JORHAT, June 8: Pranab Mukherjee made a big mistake by taking part in the closing function of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Nagpur on Thursday stating that the RSS does not salute the nation or hoist the tricolor at their camps or offices even during any function on special days like January 26 or August 15, adding that the RSS hoists its own flag. Gogoi said on Friday that the Congress will ask for a clarification from the former President of India.

The former Congress Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi heavily flayed the veteran Congressman from Bengal for attending the RSS programme at Nagpur. On the other hand, Gogoi also pointed out that the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s visit to Hiren Gohain’s resident was baseless as they do not have the same ideology.

Regarding NRC and voters’ list, he said that there is no relation between the two, adding that if any name is deleted from NRC but remains in the voters’ list, then too he or she could cast his/her vote. He said 2016 voter ID will work as evidence for the 2019 election voters’ list. Regarding the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 Tarun Gogoi heavily flayed Sarbananda Sonowal for trying to go against the interests of the people.
