Prasan Barooah's book 'Missil' released

SIVASAGAR, March 15: ‘Missil’, a collection of miscellaneous articles, authored by noted educationist and sports-organizer of Sivasagar Prasan Barooah, a former school principal was released here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Barooah said, “I have been writing articles on various issues which have published in different newspapers, magazines and souvenirs time to time. I have had a wish to publish the collection of my writings in the form of a book, but I could not prepare myself mentally. My wife, sons and daughter-in-law encouraged and helped me to fulfill my wish.”

Former principal of Sibsagar Commerce College and Chief Minister’s special award winner Dipali Chaliha who was released the book said that the title of the book itself left her with a good feeling. “There is so much fond memories in the book. Every page will let you know the caliber of the writer and his devotion and passion for writing,” said Chaliha. The book release function, at Sibsagar tya Mandir, was also attended by former Axom Xahitya Xabha president Imran Shah as distinguished guest, noted educationist Soram Baruah and Lakhikanta Mahanta as invited guests. Earlier, noted social worker Saurav Chaliha (Liku) briefed the objectives of the function, while Dipali Bhattacharya Baruah anchored the entire episode.
