Prasan finds talents in State basketball

GUWAHATI, July 22: Reputed basketball coach of the country Prasan Jayasankar today advised Assam Baskebtall Association (ABA) to take few steps if they wanted to improve the game in the State. According to her, selection of players at the early age, good infrastructure and involvement of parents are very essential now to raise the game and ABA should follow these steps. 
Prasan is supervising a special coaching camp at the RG Baruah Sports complex, organized by Assam Basketball Association, for the beginners as well as for the senior players of the State.
Sharing her experience with the media person Prasan today said, “I have noticed few quality players in the camp. What they now need is good coaching and little exposures.”
She also announced road map for the Assam Basketball Association. The reputed coach said,“Assam Basketball Association should follow three things if they want to produce quality players in the coming days. One of them is to select players at the very early stage for the training. They also need quality infrastructures which included court, gymsium, equipment and a conference hall. On the other hand they association must encourage the parents also to involve with the game as much as possible.” 
Meanwhile Mukut Medhi, the secretary of the Assam Basketball Association, today informed the media that apart from players Prasan, who was announced as the ambassador of the ABA today, also guiding 7 coaches in the camp.  They would look after the training of the state players in the future. 
“We want to make long term relation with Prasan and she also accepts our request. Prasan will visit the state after every three to four months to check the improvement of the players and during that visit she would provide necessary suggestions to them,” said Medhi.
