Pre-Puja get-together held

SHILLONG, Sept 19: The Monitoring Cum Implementation Committee organized a pre-Durga Puja and Kali Puja get-together of harmony 2016, on Sunday at RLSSCO Community Hall, Bishnupur in Shillong, where various Puja committees comprises of 27 Puja Pandals within 19th South Shillong Constituency attended the function.

The function started with Puja prayer which was conducted by priest R. Bhattacharjee and A. Acharjee, followed by cutting and distribution of Puja cake (Prasad) by the chairman of the committee and Local MLA Sanbor Shullai. The function was also address by ba Bhattacharjee (President) and JL Das (Gen. Secretary) Central Puja Committee, Shillong who along with the Local MLA wishes each one a happy, peace, and blessed Durga and Kali Puja 2016.

Fincial assistance for a total amount of Rs. 5,10,000 including Puja banners were distributed to all 27 Puja committees supported by Sanbor Shullai-MLA, to eble them to purchase LED lighting materials etc for this annual communities festival.
