Precarious road condition irks commuters

Silchar, March 5: The PWD road from Lakhipur Bridge, Binkandi Part – I to Dilkush Ferryghat, which is about 1 km in length, is in a very bad shape. The precarious condition of the road has made life miserable for the commuters. School goers, teachers, employees and vehicles have to pass through this road on daily basis. There is large number of potholes on the road which has posed a serious problem.

Accidents have become almost a daily affair. People have urged upon the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, the SDO Civil (Lakhipur), the MLA and the authorities concerned to do something in this regard. PWD officials have been requested to look into the matter. Residents of that area have warned if no action is taken, they would resort to road blockades, protest demonstrations and movements.
