Preparation for counting at Tezpur going on in full swing

TEZPUR, May 13: With only five days left for the counting process on May 19 the district administration here has been on brisk preparation for the counting of five LACs under Tezpur Election district including 71 No-Dhekiajuli LAC, 72 No- Barchala LAC, 73 No- Tezpur LAC, 74 No- Rangapara LAC and 75 No- Sootea LAC. The counting process will start from 8 am onward on May 19. A total of 74 counting tables and 5 counting cells are arranged at Tezpur College here. According to a press note there will be 28 tables for Dhekiajuli and Sootea LACs while there will be 36 tables for Barchala, Tezpur and Rangapara LACs. For each of the table there will be one observer, one counting assistant, one micro-observer and one assistant returning officer. For smooth performing of the counting process a special training has been imparted to the concerned officials. “Moreover, in a meeting held in connection with the ensuing counting process at the DC conference hall on May 13, Deputy Commissioner cum retuning officer Laya Madduri reviewed the norms of election commission before the representatives of the political parties.” The release said adding District Development Commissioner, PK Mahanta and ADC, T. Pator explained in detail about the norms of the election commission and urged all concerned not to use mobile phone inside the counting are on that day.
