HAMREN, Feb 1: Under the aegis of Karbi Cultural Society (KCS), full-swing preparation is going on for the 44th Karbi Youth Festival 2018, which is scheduled to be held from February 15 to February 19 at Karbi People Hall (KPH), Taralangso, Diphu. The festival has become one of the largest ethnic festivals of Northeast India. After the Karbi Cultural Society was formed in 1974, the annual carnival was held every year in mid-February. A reception committee has been constituted with Horensing Bey, KAAC chairman, as president. The committee has completed 50 per cent of major works for smooth celebration of the festival. Cultural troupes of 21 cultural zones of the KCS in Karbi Anglong and outside the district from Kamrup, Sonitpur, Meghalaya and Dima Hasao will participate in the festival.
