Preparation on for 45th annual conference of ABSU

HOWRAGHAT, January 21: Brisk preparations are on to observe the 45th annual conference of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) Karbi Anglong district unit.

Along with the student union’s annual conference the annual session of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), Kachary Samaj, DBHA, All Bodo Women Welfare Federation (AWWF) and DuBAA of Langhin regiol committee will start jointly from January 27 to January 29 at Langhin Tiniali with different colourful programmes.

As per programme, the annual session will begin by hoisting the flags of the regiol committee of Langhin ABSU, BSS, KS, DBHA, AWWF and DuBAA  and the flags will be unfurled by the presidents of the aforesaid organizations like Jos Basumatary, Tareswar Basumatary, Saburam Brahma, Ribul Mwchahary, Promila Daimary and Hem Chandra Baglary respectively.

Homage will be paid to martyrs at 8 am by Badal Mwchahary, secretary, United Bodo People’s Organizations (UBPO), Karbi Anglong district unit. The Binda Basumatary memorial main pandal will be iugurated by Hemanta Basumatary, president, Ex-BLT Welfare Society, Karbi Anglong district unit.

The Brindaban memorial dining hall will officially be opened by Santanu Basumatary, chairman, Langhin LAMPS. The delegates sitting of the Langhin regiol committee of ABSU, BSS, KS, ABWWF, DBHA and DuBAA will start from 9 am and the delegate meeting will be iugurated by Suresh Basumatary, former Speaker, ABSU, Karbi Anglong district unit, Madan Chandra Swargiary, vice-president, BSS, Karbi Anglong district unit, Ramendra Brahma, president, UBPO, Karbi Anglong district unit, Dipen Basumatary, president, DBHA, Karbi Anglong district committee and Jethuram Basumatary,  former president, DuBAA, Karbi Anglong district committee respectively.

Subsequently, the old bodies of ABSU, ABFFW and DuBAA of Langhin regiol committee will be dissolved and new body will be formed.

On January 28, various traditiol games and sports like volley ball (men) and Kabaddi (girls) competitions will also be held and the sports programmes will be iugurated at 10 am by Rilip Ronghang, District Sports Officer (DSO), Karbi Anglong, Diphu.

Literary competitions like extempore speech for ME school level, quiz competition for high school level and debating competition in college level will be held.

On January 29, flag of the ABSU, Karbi Anglong district unit will be unfurled at 7 am by Jiban Dhruba Basumatary, president, ABSU, Karbi Anglong district unit. Homage will be paid to Bodo martyrs and the paying of tribute programme will be initiated by Tonuram Daimary, vice-president, ABSU, Karbi Anglong district unit and the ABSU old body will be dissolved and new body will be formed at 9 am.

Open meeting will also be held at 12 noon and the meeting will be presided over by Jiban Dhruba Basumatary. The open meeting of the union will be iugurated by Sarat Brahma, EM, KAAC. Promod Boro, president, ABSU, central committee will attend the students’ union open meeting as chief guest.

Dr Premanda Muwchahary, professor, Thongnokbe College, Nipen Baglary, Principal, Langhin Pamgaon HS School will attend as appointed speakers. Besides, all the presidents and secretaries of Bodo frontal organizations will attend as guests of honour.
