Preparation on for celebrating Sivasagar Divas

Joysagar, June 7: A high-level public meeting was held on Tuesday in Chukafa Bhavan of the DC’s office, Sivasagar under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner rayan Konwar. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss about the annual celebration of Sivasagar Divas. Sivasagar was legally declared a district on July 1, 1983 and every year, Sivasagar Divas is celebrated on July 1. District Development Commissioner Abhijit Baruah, EAC  PJ Sarma, Pranjal Das, ADC Arup Sarma, SMB chairperson M. Singha, senior citizens like Prem Gogoi, educationist Dr Prafulla Kalita, Dr SJ Mahanta and other noted persons and media persons took part in yesterday’s meeting. It was decided that various competitions and colorful cultural programmes would be held so that the youth and the student community could take part here.
