Preparation underway for silver jubilee celebration of PGMSCS

Bongaigaon, Oct 28: The silver jubilee celebration of Priya Gupta Memorial Socio-Cultural Centre (PGMSCS) will be held on November 4 with a two-day long programme.
 Mriganka Sekhar Choudhury, secretary of the silver jubilee celebration committee, said that the programme would start with flag hoisting by Rakhal Das Gupta, president of All India Railwayman’s Federation. “It will be followed by lighting of lamp by Ashish Biswas and Assam State secretary of Hind Mazdoor Sabha and Dr T K Bahadur, lecturer of Bongaigaon College. Tribute-paying programme will be done by Ramani Barman, former State Education Minister. Iuguration of newly-constructed gate of Priya Gupta Bhavan and awareness rally on tural and social environment will be done by Ravilesh Kumar, Divisiol Railway Mager of Rangiya Division,” he said.
 A karate and yoga demonstration will be iugurated by Professor R B Rai Sarma and S N Brahma Choudhury, former MP. A felicitation programme will be held where students with outstanding performance and other people from different fields will be felicitated. A souvenir Creation will be released by Mukunda Sarma, former Principal of Birjhora HS School.  The next day several competitions will be held among students and a multilingual poets’ meet will also be held. In the open session, several noted persons, including Biswajit Pegu, Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner, Rakhal Dasgupta, Ramani Barman and many others will be present, he added.
