Preparations afoot for Khagen Barbaruah's birth centery celebration

GAURISAGAR, September 15: Khagen Barbaruah Foundation is organizing the birth centery of  leader of  Revolutiory Communist Party, Khagen Barbaruah who represented Assam Assembly thrice  from Amguri LAC.

The Khagen Barbaruah Foundation is organizing the birth centery celebration in association with local people at the Khagen Baruah Memorial High School, Samaguri, on the outskirts of Amguri with a day-long programme on September 20. The programme will start with hoisting of flag by Kasturi Barbaruah Kalita, founder trustee followed by lighting of 100 earthen lamps before the portrait of Khagen Barbaruh by Putali Barbaruah, Prabhat Barbaruah, Dr Girindra th Gogoi, Montu Barbaruah, Horen Buragohain, Dr Probin Konwer, Ashok Saikia and Purabi Saikia.

Later a felicitation programme will be held where 100 distinguished persons will be felicitated. A symposium will be held on the topic ‘The relevance of Khagen Barbaruah’s social and political philosophy in present social context’. Durgadhar Borah, former Principal of Swahid Piyolee Phukan College, mti will conduct the symposium. Noted intellectual and secretary, Senior Citizen Association of Assam, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and jourlist Nitumoni Saikia will grace the semir as appointed speakers.
