Preparations complete for Modi's Kokrajhar visit

KOKRAJHAR, January 17:Hectic preparation is going on in full swing for the grand mass gathering during the visit of Prime Minister rendra Modi to  Kokrajhar on January 19. The preparation is almost complete while the security measures have been tightened to thwart any undesired incident during the meeting of Modi.

Prime Minister Modi is likely to address a huge public gathering at 10.45 am where the Prime Minister is likely to announce an additiol package for BTC region.

A big pandal has been set up at Bodofa Nwgwr near BTC Secretariat, Kokrajhar where the sitting capacity is arranged for over 2 lakh people. Three temporary helipads also have set up and the security personnel from Assam Police, CRPF, BSF and special team from SPG will observe from the side of the pandal.      

Talking to reporters Biswajit Daimary, MP Rajya Sabha said the Prime Minister would visit for welfare of the common people of BTC and was likely to bring good news. He said he was optimistic for special package and other opportunities from Modi. Over 2 lakh people from different parts of the region are expected to participate in the mass gathering and Prime Minister will announce package to BTC for welfare of the among the societies. Daimary said that all preparations had been completed and the BPF alone had organized the mass gathering. He also said that a good relation would start with BJP after Modi’s visit in BTC where both the BPF and BJP would announce pre-poll alliance. Daimary also said that the Prime Minister Modi’s visit would be a one-hour programme.

LR Bishnoi, IGP, BTC said that the preparation works had been going on for Prime Minister Modi’s visit on January 19 in Kokrajhar. He said that security personnel from Assam Police, CRPF, SBB and special security had been arranged to make peaceful atmosphere during mass gathering. He said that they were cooperating with SPG according to their requirement in the preparation of ground and three temporary helipads near the main pandal. Bishnoi said that they had been using SSB, CRPF, and army team sniffer dogs to checkout and watch all around the field and also to avoid unwanted incident during the visit of the Prime Minister in Kokrajhar. He asserted that from today random checking had been started. He also said sufficient security had been arranged for the people to come in the meeting from various districts without any problems.

Shymal Prasad Saikia, SP of Kokrajhar told the media that all security measure had been provided by the district administration where extensive security personnel had been deployed in the district. All the corridors of the Kokrajhar town had been covered with tight security.
