Preparations in full swing for Rongali Bihu in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT, April 10: Brisk preparations are going on for the 55th Golaghat Kendriya Rongali Bihu Sanmilan at Golaghat Samany Khetra. The Bihu programme will be held with a three-day programme from April 27 to 29.

For smooth conduct of the Bihu sanmilan, an organizing committee has already been formed in this connection with Tankeswa Pathak as president, Bipul Chandra Das as working president, Rohit Gogoi and Gyanjyoti th as general secretary and Abhibartarn Goswami, Haren Das, Raju Phukan, Jitul Rajkhowa, Abdul Kashim as assistant secretary.

On the first day, the programme will be started with the hoisting of flag of Golaghat Kendriya Rongali Bihu Sanmilan by its president Tankeswar Pathak followed by smriti tarpan by its general secretary Rohit Gogoi and Gyanjyoti th. Bihu Sewa and Akhalor Mel will be opened by working president Bipul Chandra Das and the cultural procession will be flagged off by veteran social worker Prakhyat Duwarah.

The competition of Jeng Bihu and Bor Bihuwati known as Mejangkari will be held on April 28 and the Dr. Anil Baruah memorial local artist programme will be iugurated by Rabi Jyoti Baruah, District Cultural Officer, Jorhat.

On April 29, the cultural programme in the evening will be iugurated by noted artist Bipul Chetia Phukan and popular singer Babu will perform.
