Preparations on for Bathou San

KOKRAJHAR, January 24: The Kokrajhar district All Bathou Religious Union (ABRU) has decided to observe Bathou San on January 27 with a day–long programme at Bathou Thansali, Baganshali in Kokrajhar town. The reception committee has started preparations for the programme.

 At a press meet held at Bathou Thansali on Saturday, the president of Kokrajhar district ABRU, Tikendra Basumatary said that this year retired Additiol Director General of CPWD, Government of India, bin Chandra Mondol of West Bengal would be the chief guest of Bathou San. He said Rajya Saha MP Biswajit Daimary and former Lok Sabha MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary would also be present along with many dignitaries and Bathou religious leaders.

  Meanwhile, the convener of Bathou Traditiol and Cultural Centre Mohim Chandra Basumatary said that the union had taken special initiatives for beautification and construction of Bathou Thansali.  He said the special design for the construction of Bathou Thansali was made by  bin Chandra Mondol who had also won the Best Citizen of India Award in 2012. The Bathou Thansali would have complete facelift with attractive design, he said, adding that there would be special dotion programme during the observation of Bathou San. The construction work of the new Bathou Thansali is going on in full swing.

  As part of the programme, the president of the Kokrajhar district ABRU Tikendra Basumatary will unfurl the flag of the union followed by prayers for peace and mankind to be performed by Birendra Kr. Basumatary as douri and Baram Basumatary as dousi.
