Preparations on for Buddha Purnima celebration

DIBRUGARH, April 27: Buddha Purnima (birth anniversary of Lord Buddha and his salvation for Parinirvan) will be celebrated at Dibrugarh District Buddha Vihar, Grahambazar on May 4. The day-long celebration will be marked by hoisting of world Buddha flag, religious procession, Sangha Dan, Sheel Pradhan, religious prayer and distribution of fruits to the patients of Assam Medical College and Hospital.

“The religious discussion, prayer for world peace, Sraman Diksha, and lighting of lamp in the evening are some of the events organized to make the celebration more fruitful,” added the monk-in chief, Dibrugarh Buddhist Temple, Graham Bazaar, Rev, Sumedhanda Bhikkhu.

He further called upon all people, irrespective of their language, religion and race, to take part in the celebration.
