Preparations on for Buddha Purnima

Dibrugarh, May 14: The 2560th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, revered as Buddha Purnima, will be celebrated with a day-long celebration at Dibrugarh Buddhist Temple, Graham Bazaar, on May 21. The auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima will begin with the hoisting of Biswa Buddha flag, to be followed by other events like religious procession, Buddha Puja, sanghadan, sheel pradan, distribution of fruits among the patients of Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Biswa Shanti Prartha, shraman dikhsha, lighting of lamps, religious meeting and other programmes. The chief high priest of the Buddhist Temple, Rev. Sumedhanda Bhikkhu, in a press communiqué, has urged people to attend the auspicious ceremony of Buddha Purnima.
