Preparations on for Durga Puja in Tangla

TANGLA, Sept 20: Preparations are in full-swing for the grand celebration of Durga Puja in 41different locations in an around Tangla town.

 The town has already worn a festive look and people of all age groups are busy browsing clothes in shops. Meanwhile, the members of Tangla Tha garik Mancha have geared up for formulating plans for the traffic magement  and peaceful conduct of the Puja. A meeting to this effect was conducted at Tangla VDP office which was chaired by president of the Mancha, Ashim Roy on Wednesday.

The meet was attended by SDO(C) Bhergaon D. Hazarika, SDPO Bhergaon Barun Purkayastha, social workers Likhan Das and Mahendra Bharali and members of different puja committee who formulated various rules and regulations, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene by proper disposal of plastic materials, prohibition of alcohol and other intoxicating materials. The meet also exhorted the puja committees to co-operate with the police and civil administration for maintaining law and order during the festival.
