Preparations on for JUA convention at Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 12: Preparations are going on in full swing to organize the 19th state convention of Jourlists’ Union of Assam (JUA) at Kokrajhar scheduled to be held on December 19 and 20.

The 21st annual convention of Kokrajhar Press Club and 1st convention of Kokrajhar district committee of JUA would also be observed on December 19 with a day-long programme.

The president and secretary of the organizing committee A. Kr. Basumatary and A. Kr. Barman said the all preparations were going smoothly to make the convention a grand success.

As a part of the programme, the first delegate meeting of JUA would be iugurated by the Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar, MP Sharma on the first day. There would be separate meeting of Kokrajhar Press Club on that day. In the next day morning, the president of JUA and KPC will hoist their respective flags followed by homage and 2nd delegate meeting. The new body of e JUA would also be formed during the 2nd delegate meeting.

The open session which would be chaired by the president of the JUA, Geetartha Pathak would be graced by Sabi Inderjit, Executive Member of Intertiol Federation of Jourlists’ (IFJ).

The session would be iugurated by the BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary.

The BTC Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyary will release the 2nd edition of KPC mouth piece, ‘Bodoland Herald”.

Johns Ingti Kathar, Dr. Anupam Roy, Principal Secretary of BTC, Chino Basumatary, veteran jourlist and editor of Bodosa daily would be the distinguished guests while the local MLA Pramila Rani Brahma, BTC Ems—Mritunjay rzary, Doneswar Goyary and Rajib Brahma, Deputy Commissioner, MP Sharma and Joint Director, IPR, Pradeep Brahma will attend the session as guests of honour. The cultural evening would be iugurated by the Kokrajhar SP Shyamal Prasad Saikia.
