Preparations on for semifil and fil events of BTC-Army premier football league

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 15: To promote sports and spread the message of brotherhood and unity among various communities in BTC area, the BTC administration and army have jointly been organizing ‘Goodwill Friendship Football Premier League’ since 2015-16. As previous year, the semi fil and fil events of the premier football league is to be organized at Kokrajhar.

In this connection, the BTC authority and the army today reviewed the premier league which was held in the four districts of BTC and selected the district champion team in the conference hall of the A-Block of the the BTC Secretariat at Bodofa Nwgwr. The meeting was attended by BTC EM for Sports and Youth Welfare department Doneswar Goyary, Brig. Hiten Swahney, a host of other officers from army, officials of BTC and sports department.

In his speech, Brigadier Swahney called upon both the army and civil officials present in the meeting to put their best efforts to form strong teams in all districts so that the BTC-army premier league could pull maximum crowd in the semi fil and fil games. In the meeting, it was decided to organize other activities like medical camps, cultural programme, interaction programme etc. and to bring Sony TV’s Super Dancer contestant Masoom rzary in the fil match.

Later, in a joint press meet held in the same venue, the BTC EM Doneswar Goyary informed the media persons about the holding of BTC-Army Goodwill Football Premier League, 2016-17 as in the previous year. He further informed that the semi-fil match will be played between January 4 and 6 and the fil match would be played at Kokrajhar SAI and Special Area Games centre at Kanthalguri on January 7 next year as the cluster level maches in the districts are already completed. The winner and runner up teams in the fil match would be awarded trophies and cash amount of rupees two lakhs and one lakh respectively, he further added.
