Preparations on for Shivaratri Mahotsav

JOYSAGAR, Feb 21: Preparations are going on for Sri Sri Shivaratri Mahotsava in the historic Shiv Dol premises of Sivasagar town. At a press meet held in Sukafa Bhavan of the DC’s office on Tuesday, Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner raya Konwar said that the Shivaratri Mahotsava would be held from February 23 to February 26 in the Shiv Dol premises. Besides devotees from various parts of the country, many business groups will also come to Sivasagar to take part in the Shivaratri Mela of this historic town. The Sivasagar district administration and police administration have taken necessary security measures to hold the festival in a peaceful manner, he said.  CCTV cameras along with information website and enquiry-control room have been set up. Nearly 500 temporary stalls have been set up on the bank of the Borpukhuri where traders and businessmen will do business. Many devotees and sadhus have already reached Sivasagar.
