Preparatory camp of Indian soccer team in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Feb 12: The preparatory camp of the Indian soccer team for the forthcoming World Cup qualifying round match will be held in Guwahati.The camp will get under way from March 4 at the Sarusajai Sports complex.

Disclosing the news to the media Ankur Dutta, the secretary of the Assam Football Association, said,“ The All India Football Federation has decided to hold the camp in the Guwahati and it will begin on March 4. Stephen Constantine, the chief coach of the India team, recently visited the city to check the infrastructure and he was highly satisfied. The probable are expected to arrive in the city before the start of the camp."

 It may be mentioned here that India will take on Nepal in the World Cup qualifying round match on March 12. The game will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium from 7 in the evening. Nepal will arrive in the city on March 9 to take part in the game.

Meanwhile Dutta today informed that there will be ticket for this game. However the prices of the tickets are not filized yet and it would be done very soon.

Replying on a query on propose 2017 World Cup Dutta said, " FIFA officials are satisfied with the progress of the infrastructure development. They also want few more development in the stadium that included increase of number of dressing rooms from two to four, proper sitting accommodation of more than 200 VVIP and VIP etc. He is optimistic that Guwahati will be filly selected as one of the venue of U-17 Soccer world cup scheduled to be held in 2017.
