Preparedness meet on Republic Day celebration held

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 4: A preparedness meeting for the celebration of Republic Day in Chirang district on January 26 was held on Tuesday in the conference hall of the DC’s office here. The meeting was chaired by Chirang Deputy Commissioner Binod Kr. Deka and attended by Chirang Superintendent of Police Sankar Brata Raimedhi, CO of 156th Bn.CRPF, Rajesh Pandey, CO of 15th Bn.SSB, DB Sor, former MLA Matindra Basumatary and other dignitaries. The meeting discussed about details of the programme to be held on the occasion like prabhat pheri, tiol flag hoisting at government, semi- government offices, ceremonial hoisting of tiol flag, cultural programme, parade, distribution of awards and grants-in aid felicitation to the outstanding performers in different fields.

In his speech, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to people to cooperate with the district administration and to do the entrusted works smoothly so as to celebrate the Republic Day in a befitting manner. SP Raimedhi also spoke about the security arrangements to be made for Republic Day celebration.
