Preparing North East for Digital India Scheme launched in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, August 31: Additiol Deputy Commissioner Anjava Chaliha iugurated Preparing North East for Digital India Scheme, tiol E-governce Division (NeGD), a flagship programme of the Prime Minister of India on Wednesday.

NeGD, in collaboration with the tiol Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous Scientific Society of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEIT), Government of India, will train 16,000 government employees of all the north-eastern States in two years. Deputy Director and Centre in-charge, NIELIT, Guwahati City Centre, M. Dimoni Singh, Assistant Director and Centre in-charge, NIELIT, Jorhat Extension Centre, Prankrish Tamooli and DIO, NIC Dibrugarh, Deep Kamal Gohain attended the function as guests of honour.

The scheme started with a training programme to 20 to 20 Government of Assam officials in the CCC programme course here. The scheme further aims at training 139 employees of Dibrugarh district.

This training programme of NeGD and NIELIT is a medium in propagating the Digital India mission with an aim to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the rise of information technology.
