'Present education system responsible  for growing unemployment problem'

LAKHIMPUR, March 30: The present education system is squarely responsible for the growing unemployment problem of Assam. A host of efficient debaters of the State established this bare truth with strong arguments at a State-level debate competition held in the youth convention organized by All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) at Tyag Kshetra in Lakhimpur.

A total of 22 debaters from various educatiol institutions of the State participated in the competition. Harsh Singh of North Lakhimpur College bagged the best debater award while Mash Jyoti Borah of Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat, secured the second prize. Student of Baho College, Shatabdi Hazarika, Piz Pratim Bhattacharya of Degaon Kamal Duworah College and Kalyan Jyoti Kalita of Institute of Media Magement, Guwahati were potent enough to secure the third, fourth and fifth position in the debate competition. A symposium on ‘The engagement opportunity and possibility of the unemployed in Assam at present’ was also held. It was chaired by Somth Borah, senior bank officer of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, who is also a columnist.

Retired Planning Officer Anta Kumar Bhuyan iugurated a massive plantation drive in association with the organizing committee president, Keshav Bhuyan, working president ren Sarmah and the office bearers of the Lakhimpur district unit of AAUA. A competition on the traditiol attire of Assamese culture was held in the evening.
