President, PM congratulate Team India

New Delhi, Feb 22 : President Prab Mukherjee and Prime Minister rendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Indian cricket team for their second consecutive win of the World Cup.

“Congratulations on your second victory in ICC World Cup 2015; the first ever win against S. Africa in World Cup matches #PresidentMukherjee,” Mukherjee said on Twitter while Modi tweeted: “Great performance. Well played. Congrats Team India. You make us proud yet again.”

Sports Minister Sarbanda Sonowal also joined in to laud opener Shikhar Dhawan for his match-winning knock of 137. “The India team truly deserved the victory. It was a true team effort. The Indians batted well and their running between the wickets was exceptiolly fast. The bowlers bowled well from the beginning and the wickets at regular interval kept the pressure building and the team also maged to get some crucial run-outs,” Sonowal said in a statement.

“Overall it was a brilliant team effort and with these two important wins, the team would be beaming with confidence. I once again congratulate M.S. Dhoni for brilliantly leading the team and I wish them good luck for their future games.” IANS
