Presidential Baseball begins

GUWAHATI, April 22; Presidential Cup Baseball Championship got under way today at the Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium amidst huge chaos. Altogether five countries are participating in the championship and the matches of the competition will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium from tomorrow.

The inaugural function was delayed by nearly two hours and a section of players even complained for not getting proper information on the inaugural function from the organizers. The dignitaries who were present in the inaugural function are Pabitramram Khound, the Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare, Subhash Basumatari, the Director of the Sports Authority of India (NE Regional Centre) and the top officials from the Baseball Association of India.
