SIVASAGAR, Oct 13: A person, allegedly the prime accused in the controversial Diksha Rajkumari murder, was filly apprehended from Kashmir’s Sambhar area by Sivasagar police. Pranjal Pratim Saikia, a residence of Mothadang area of Sivasagar, allegedly the prime accused, is a BSF jawan by profession stationed at Jammu and Kashmir. Saikia was arrested from Kashmir’s Sambhar area, said Sivasagar police. Reportedly, Saikia who was in an alleged extra-marital affair with Diksha has confessed to the crime of murdering her during police interrogation and stated that she had been blackmailing him to marry her because of which he had killed her, said police. He was sent to jail today.

It may be stated that the murder came to light after Diksha’s decomposed dead body was recovered from her rented house on August 11. As per forensic reports she was raped following which she was strangled to death. She was last seen on August 8 by her owner.
