Prime accused in mysterious death of  NRL employee arrested

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), Feb 19: The prime accused in the mysterious death of an employee working at Numaligarh Refinery Limited in Golaghat, was arrested on Sunday by Golaghat Police.

The accused persons are Abhijit Dhar and Biswajit Sarkar, both residents of Golaghat town, who were arrested from their respective homes on Sunday. On February 9, Biplob Bhowmick (35), a resident of Hindi School Road in Golaghat, had celebrated his marriage anniversary. In the function, Biplob Bhowmick’s wife Anindita Bhowmick had invited her male friends. But next morning Biplob’s body was found inside his room. The incident seemed to be a suicide but the family members of Biplob alleged it to be a murder and filed a complaint at Golaghat Police Station against Anindita Bhowmick and her friends. The police started investigation and detained the two male friends of Anindita Bjowmik, Humen Phukan and Partha Gogoi.

The second day, Biplob’s wife Anindita Bhowmik also detained and sent to jail. In connection with the case, two other prime accused, Abhijit Dhar and Biswajit Sarkar, were absconding since after the death of Biplob Bhowmik. On Sunday, Golaghat police arrested them from their respective homes and sent them to the Golaghat Jail under judicial custody.
