Prime Minister arrives Shillong tomorrow

SHILLONG, Dec 14: BJP Meghalaya unit has said that preparation for the visit of Prime Minister rendra Modi to attend a rally in the State Capital scheduled on Saturday is on in full swing.

The Prime Ministers is expected to address the public at Polo Ground here around 1 pm that day.

Speaking to reporters here, BJP state vice president JA Lyngdoh said party volunteers, youth and women’s wing members from various blocks are busy to make the visit of the Prime Minister to the State a grand success.

He said that people from different walks of live from different districts of the State will be attending the rally, which is being called “Rally for a Change”.

“State leaders of the BJP will also speak on the occasion, which will be followed by a cultural programme,” he said.

The BJP leader urged both supporters and well wishers to attend the rally on Saturday. He said the State party leaders will also be inspecting the venue of the rally on Friday.

Asked how many sitting MLA will be sharing the dais with the Prime Minister, Lyngdoh said, “That has been kept as a secret and only when you attend the rally you and everyone else will know.”

When asked on the number of MLAs joining the BJP in the coming days, he said, “That you will see. It is better not to disclose right now as we have been requested to keep it a secret, but they (MLAs) will be definitely joining our party.”

He said with the coming of Modi to Meghalaya the wave of support for the BJP will become even stronger.

“If you observe the mood of the people, things look really difficult for the Congress this time around. They will find it very hard to even get to double-digit figures, be it in Khasi-Jaintia hills or Garo hills,” he asserted.

He further informed the media that due to security reason the Prime Minister will iugurate the new BJP office in the city from the venue of the rally itself.
