Prime Minister Modi’s Pariksha Pe Charcha for exam aspirant students

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking in the second edition of his programme "pariksha pe charcha", asked the parents of the exam aspirant students not to pressurise the children in the name of studies. He asked the parents not to put pressure on their children to pursue and fulfil those dreams which could not be perceived by the parents.

Modi also addressed the students who are to appear for their board exams and discussed the examination-related issues. Modi said, "I would request parents, do not expect your children to fulfil your unfulfilled dreams. Every child has his or her own potential and strengths ... It is important to understand these positives of every child."

Modi further stressed the usefulness of the technology and said that it should be used in a way in which the mind can be expanded. Technology can lead one to be innovative. However, he also stressed that using technology does not mean simply relying on it and one would also have to learn to go out to the playing field and get involved in physical activities.

PM further asked the parents not to rel more on the ‘report cards’ of their children. He said, "Only when you take it in spirit and encourage your child, a 60 per cent holder moves towards 70 or 80 per cent. If you only criticize and scold your child for not getting 90 per, they will start believing that they are incapable. It will take their grades further down towards 40 per cent."

During the programme, Modi spoke to around 2000 students, teachers and parents. As there is just less than a month left for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, Modi took to discuss some major issues like handling the mental stress during the exam which is expected to help the students coming from across the country.

Modi further added that the learning cannot be reduced to exams only and rather one should equip education to face various challenges of life. He also said that according to his belief, anything that challenges one, polishes him too. If there is nothing like a test, then one would become complacent. There should always be something to challenge.
