Prime Minister's effigy burnt

DEMOW, Sept 21: The activists of Thowra Yuba Congress Committee burnt the effigy of Prime Minister rendra Modi on Thursday in Demow Chariali at NH-37 road in protest against abnormal price hike of essential commodities as well as petrol and diesel.

The Thowra Yuba Congress Committee activists shouted various slogans against the Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) government. Under the leadership of Chatradhar Gogoi, general secretary of Thowra Youth Congress, the protest was carried out. In the protest, Mab Borah, general secretary of Assam Pradesh Yuba Congress, Prasanta Raj Konwar, president of Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency of Yuba Congress along with Thowra Congress leaders were present.
