FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

SIVASAGAR, Dec 7: Charitra Duworah, the Principal of Betbari HS School, Sivasagar was removed from the charge of the Principal following allegations of forgery and discrepancy in certificates and marksheets. Duworah was stripped of the charge of Principal for the time being by the higher authority vide an order No. GBEST/ALLEGATION/30/2017/6-A to the Inspector of Schools, Sivasagar on December 4 indicating further action in this regard.
Duworah was in the seat since December 16, 2016 after the SMDC recommended his appointment as the Principal of the school following which the then Principal-in-charge Indreswar Konwar, on the basis of an RTI to the Controller of Examitions, Dibrugarh University, challenged his appointment alleging Duworah’s MA and B.Ed marksheets and certificates as forged. He then brought it to the notice of the authority but for reasons not known, no action was taken against the Principal. But the new Inspector of Schools of Sivasagar, Abdul Zelil immediately wrote to the Director of Secondary Education for taking necessary action against the tainted Principal.
