GUWAHATI, Feb 3: Assam thrashed Tripura by 7 wickets in the Mushtaq Ali T20 Cricket tourment match in Kolkata on Friday. The star of the match was Assam pace bowler Pritam Das who picked up five wickets for just 19 runs during his four overs spell which resticted Tripura 85. Invited to bat, Tripura suffered from the very begging as Pritam removed opener U Bose on the 11th ball of the innings. Thereafter it was one sided affair. Pritam finished with 5–19, his best in domestic T20 cricket, and Abu Nechim Ahmed bagged 2–10. Only three batsmen of Tripura were able to score double figure runs and among them Mura Singh (32) played the best innings.

Assam didn’t face too much problem to chase the small total. Sibsankar Roy remained not out  on 34 (26 balls) which he scored with the help of five boundaries and one six. Opener Rishav Das contributed 21 runs on the board. The other batsmen which Assam lost today were Riyan Parag (9) and Karthick (9).
