Private institutes outshine government schools in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, June 2: The Kokrajhar district has witnessed a slightly better result in the last HSLC examition this year  compared to previous year. Private educatiol institutions outshine Government school the HSLC examition in Kokrajhar district.

Pprivate schools like BPCM English Medium High School, UN Academy schools, Jwngma Bodo Foraishali, Maio Swrang School, UN Academy, Ramfalbil, Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Academy, Dotma, etc. performed well.

The total pass percentage of the district this year is 52.49 PC against 51.72 pc last year. According to the Director of Education, BTC Rabi Shangkar Borgoyary, altogether 14304 students appeared in the last HSLC examition of which 7508 have passed of which 876 stood in first division, 2203 stood in second division and the rest 4429 passed  in 3rd division.

Borgoyary said, among the BTC districts, Baksa has the highest pass percentage. The pass percentage of BTC districts are-Baksa-57.51 pc, Kokrajhar-52.49 pc, Udalguri-51.48 pc and Chirang-29.85 pc. In Chirang district  a total of  465 students secured first division, 1113 secured second division  and 1028 students obtained third division. In Baksa district, 1116 secured first division, 2869 second division  and 4050 third division while in Udalguri, 1006 passed in first division , 2465 in second  and 2587 passed securing third division.

Director of Education, BTC, said Raju Tudu of Karigaon High School, Kokrajhar, scored highest mark in Santali securing 100 marks. In Boro, two students, Sudem Daimary of Bodofa Girls’ High School, Kairabari, Udalguri and Padmadhar Boro of Ghasbari Higher Secondary school, Kamrup(Rural)  scored highest marks scoring 95 out of 100. He said 22 students from Baska scored 100 marks in General Mathematics.

Kokrajhar UN Academy (Bodo medium) saw total 80 students passing out in 1st division (98.31%) with three of its students passing with distinction. In St John’s, Barama in Baksa 85 bagged first division of which 21 got distinction marks, 27 star marks, and nine students  secured second division.

BPCM Babyland, Kokrajhar School has 76 students securing first division (99%). Another private school in Kokrajhar Sister Margaret Nobel School saw 100 percent passes percentage with 22 students in 1st division. Besides, in Kokrajhar the result of UN Academy, Ramfalbil is cent parcent as 26 students stood in 1st division while 20 stood in the second division.

the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and the Bodoland Students Union (BSU) have expressed their gratitude to the students who have come out successful in the HSLC examition despite the lack of proper infrastructure and idequate teachers. The Education Secretary of the ABSU Samar Basumatary of the ABSU has congratulated the students who have shine in the matriculation examition and hoped that the students will do better in the years to come with challenging attitude.
