Prize money quiz competition held at Dibrugarh Book Fair

Dibrugarh, November 24:  The Dibrugarh Book Fair, on its fourth day, started its day’s event with an open prize money quiz competition in which students of various institutions participated. The quiz competition was hosted by quizmaster Biswajit Phukan who conducted the competition with flair and ease.

The first prize of the quiz competition went to Kumar Shivang and Ranjit Sarma , both students of Gauhati University. They received a cheque of Rs 6,000 and citation from Additiol Deputy Commissioner Lakhindan Gogoi.  

The second prize was won by Shubojit Sarkar and Siddhanta Bharali of Digboi College, who were awarded a cheque of Rs 4,000 and a citation, by ADC Hemanta Das.  Likewise, Himanta Kaushik and Shanbit Kundu  of Dibrugarh University Engineering and Technology(DUET) who secured the third position, were given a cheque of Rs  3,000 and a citation by Treasury Officer Hiren Kalita.

The fourth place was secured by Abhijit Singh and Biswajit Saha, while Debasis Basistha and Ritwick Kumar, who held the fifth position, were given a citation by member of Milan Jyoti Sangha (MJS) Niranjan Hazarika and president of MJS, Birendra Kumar Borthakur. They are students of Tezpur University.

Meanwhile, a poetry session titled ‘Kobitar Abeli’ moderated by Dr. Anda  Bormudoi, was organized in the evening. The session which began at about 3 pm, was attended by eminent poets, who dwelt on the diverse themes of poetry. The well known poet Anubhav Tulsi graced the occasion as chief guest.

Amidst the regular presence of readers and buyers, the book stalls are expected to see more visitors in the coming days.
