AGARTALA, Oct 18: People belonging to Mog community on Wednesday organized a protest rally at Shantir Bazar and Baikhora in South Tripura district demanding proper investigation into the death of a young girl Supriya Mog in a mysterious circumstance.
The rally organized by the Mog Socio-cultural Organization, a body of the Buddhist community, submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisiol Magistrate and the officer-in-charge of the Baikhora police station demanding proper investigation into the incident.
Supriya Mog, a madhyamik dropout used to stay in a rented house in Shantir Bazar to attend coaching organized by an NGO ‘Prayas’ and was suppose to reappear in Madhyamik examition next year.
On Friday last the parents of Supriya was informed that she has committed suicide and her body was lying in Shantir Bazar Hospital. Police also registered a case of untural death and investigating the case. The parents of Supriya also attended the rally and they wanted to know who took her body to the hospital from her rented house. BJP also organized a separate rally at Baikhora demanding a probe into the girl’s death.
